Local M.A.D.E. is launching a more comprehensive Mentoring.And.Development.Experience this year with the help of the Federal Governments Regional Arts Fund. Specialists in the fields of Music.Arts.Dance.Extravaganza each have a mentor/leader who will inspire their students to take charge of their chosen artform and apply their skills to the Local M.A.D.E. wheel.
Workshops will include:
Music workshops with Morganics
Art Workshops with Trina Sydee who did the art for Electric Jungle and is a specialist in “Upcycling”
Dance Workshops.
Production Workshops will be by Pete Papandrea who has been managing the technical production of numerous festivals including the Bellingen Global Carnival.
The week leading up to the 14th April ‘High On Life’ festival will be the main week of action for the music and dance workshops. The art and production workshops will have to start earlier because there’s lots to prepare.
Proposed cost at the moment for the music and dance workshops are $10 / lesson with a 10% discount for students who book early and pay up front and a further %10 discount for those who book the whole week (5 days). Each lesson is proposed to go for half a day. Participants will perform at ‘High On Life’.
Art and production workshops require considerably more effort and time from the students so at the moment we shouldn’t be charging them. Some courses may include material costs however.
More to come.. stay tuned..
